TAX COLLECTORS CERTIFICATION COURSES: 2012

The Certification Committee has developed the following courses for the Spring 2012 to fulfill the written coursework required for certification, as provided in Sec. 12-130a of the Connecticut General Statutes.

C.C.M.C. 1 (Formerly ‘CCMC 1A’)
Introduction to CT Tax Collection Administration and Law
THOMASTON
Fee: $170.00 if paid by February 4; otherwise $340.00
Dates: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 – April 17, 2012 (nine Tuesdays).
               **No class on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, the day before the
                   CTx Conference.
Time: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Fee: $170.00 if paid by February 13; otherwise $340.00
Dates: Thursday, February 23, 2012 - April 12, 2012 (seven Thursdays)
           * No class on Thursday, March 22, 2012, during CTx Conference.
Time: 9 a.m. – 12 noon

CCMC COURSE RULES: Effective Spring 2012

Course 1 MUST be taken before Course 2. NO EXCEPTIONS.

BOTH Courses 1 and 2 MUST be taken before EITHER Course 3 or Course 4. NO EXCEPTIONS.

You may take Course 3 or Course 4 in any order, after you successfully complete Courses 1 and 2.

We will notify you via email if you have NOT been enrolled in the class. If you do not hear from us, please assume you are enrolled.

Class sizes are limited. Once the limit for a class is reached, no more registrations will be accepted.

Preference for enrollment in CCMC classes will be given to students currently working in a Connecticut municipal tax collector’s office. The CCMC Committee reserves the right to further refine these criteria if questions arise.

Preference for enrollment in CCMC classes will be given to anyone who needs only one class to complete the series.

Notwithstanding the above, enrollment is first come, first served. You may register for a course and pay later. HOWEVER: ALL TUITION PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED AT LEAST TEN DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS SESSION, OR THE RATE DOUBLES.

ALSO - IF THERE IS A WAIT LIST, AND PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST TEN DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CLASS, THE PLACE IN THE CLASS WILL BE OFFERED TO SOMEBODY ELSE.

IF YOU ARE NOT ACCEPTED INTO THE CLASS, YOUR ORIGINAL CHECK WILL BE RETURNED.

NO REFUNDS will be given after the second class.

Supplies: For Course 1 and Course 2, you are responsible for bringing a calculator (solar powered, preferably silent).

For all classes, it is recommended you bring a three ring binder and materials for your personal use in taking class notes.

Additional information on these courses, and any updates, will be posted on the Certification Committee’s website (www.ccmctax.com) as soon as it is available.
